Property owners have a duty to provide a safe environment to people invited on their property. If someone is injured due to negligence on the part of the owner, the injured party has the right to file suit. However, this does not mean simply because a person slips and falls on another person's property there is a valid legal basis for a lawsuit; the injury must result from negligence.
